In a music landscape filled with artists creating for attention, Leven Kali stands out as a true original. His innovative approach to blending genres and his heartfelt lyrics make his music not only enjoyable but also deeply meaningful. Leven has had one hell of a ride, but I have a feeling that he is just getting started. From personal projects and solo acts to collaborations and features, Leven has expanded his vision across almost every aspect of music. Leven even has songwriting and producing credits for some of the biggest artists today.
If you have never heard of him, this is a great week to get acquainted. Leven was born with music in his blood. His father, Jerry “Wyzard” Seay is a world renowned bassist and mother, Vida, a Singer Songwriter. Leven holds a special place in our hearts as he’s raised in Santa Monica, CA and continues to work with the same team he’s had since high school. Levens sound uplifts us, bringing attention to love and relationships and all things beautiful.
Leven Kali’s vocal prowess is undeniable, showcasing a remarkable range that effortlessly portrays raw emotion and vulnerability. His lyrics are poignant and relatable, often delving into themes of love and longing. Each song feels like a personal journey, drawing the audience into his world with authenticity.
His features turn any song into an absolute smash hit. When he’s paired with rappers like Jay Worthy and Playboy Carti, his smooth beautiful intonation offers sonic relief with catchy hooks and incredible melodies. When featured in the production/ songwriting of Beyonce’s “Virgos Groove” Leven Kali’s sound of disco, funk and West Coast vibey music rings true and it’s almost impossible to miss his influence.
Basically, Leven Kali is one of my favorite artists out there right now and I cannot wait to continue to keep listening and seeing him perform.
